democracy in EU
Hypothesis 1) The European Union ensures democracy within the countries.
Hypothesis 2) The European Union itself suffers from a democratic deficit due to a lack of power of the institutions who are directly elected (parliament)
Hypothesis 3) The so-called constitution of the EU resembles a treaty more than a real constitution.
Hypothesis 4) In order to guarantee the acceptance of decisions made on the level of the EU, the constitution should be subjected to a referendum in all member countries of the EU.
